Marta Bonilla

Marta Bonilla designs and creates her pieces in Barcelona, where her studio is located. She started with ceramics a few years ago and fell in love with the material and the freedom she felt when working it with her hands. All of her pieces are handmade, using a modeling technique. She believes that all of her pieces should have a natural finish, this meaning we should be able to distinguish the traces created during the creation process. She is also fascinated by the idea that despite an object like a lamp, for instance, is essentially functional it can also become a beautiful, decorative piece; hence, blurring the line between art and design.
