Eny Lee Parker

Biography

Eny Lee Parker (1990) is a spatial designer emphasizing objects, furniture, and lighting, using clay as her main medium. Parker reclaims the essence of making used in traditional craft from our past – the slowness, the intention, the respect for natural resources, creating contemporary objects that brings awareness to our presence as well as to non-living things. Her pieces take on the amorphous forms of stuffed animals, cinematic creatures, and cutesy marshmallows that induce the same childlike joy of youthful memories. Lee Parker celebrates and insists on working with her hands as it’s like ‘collaborating with Mother Nature. You can manipulate the medium, but you never know what will happen when you fire it.’
